Day 2 Wednesday’s Runners

Most call it Sussex day but, since 2015, Wednesday has featured a new race which is particularly transfixing for us: the Group 1 Qatar International Stakes, a Purebred Arabian challenge over the unusually brief trip of one mile (matching the Sussex), and the first leg of the breed’s Triple Crown, which continues at the Arc meeting and concludes in Doha in February. Our main contender today is Lippo de Carrere, who famously downed two-time Triple Crown hero Al Ghadeer in the HH The Amir Sword earlier this year. Can he embark on a Triple Crown attempt of his own?
